I started a group weight-loss challenge six weeks ago

And the goal I set for myself was losing 15 pounds in eight weeks.

Well, there’s two more weeks to go in that challenge

And I’ve lost a grand total of 2 pounds.

I was down 5 pounds at one time, but as of this morning?

Two pounds in six weeks.

Big waste of time?

Part of me — Mr. Negative — says, yes, total waste of time. Two pounds in six weeks?

Wow … congratulations (with eye roll)

Sure, I didn’t try as hard as I could. I didn’t do everything I know how to do to lose weight. I ate crap some days. I snacked late at night more than once.

I’m a certified professional trainer with specialization in senior fitness and nutrition.

I should know better.

I should have more discipline.

I’m also a human who struggles and has issues.

And, in spite of myself, I’m still down 2 pounds!

That’s a positive, ain’t it?

Of course, it is.

If any of this sounds familiar, don’t beat yourself up.

Do the best you can each day.

Then do it again.
