Pretty sure it is Wayne Dyer who says, “I will see it when I believe it.”
Not, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
I’ll see it when I believe it.
There are those, like Dyer, who believe that our thoughts create our reality.
Anyway, something happened yesterday that inspired me.
I had my first PT session with a new female client who weighs in right now at 340 pounds.
She has been in shape before in her life, and so knows something about physical fitness.
So she has some short-term goals and some long-term goals.
She wants to feel better and move better, first of all. She wants to get off her diabetes medications and stop having so much pain in her hips and knees. She wants to live a long, healthy life.
Ultimately, she wants to weigh 170 pounds.
I have to admit, when we sat down for a consultation, I was … not really skeptical, but … well, maybe skeptical is the right word. Not skeptical that she could do it, but that she really would do it.
Well, our first workout together — she blew me away.
She did everything I asked her to do and then some.
She definitely has done some working out in the past, and she did not shy away from one damn thing I showed her. Did not complain or say this is too hard or I can’t do that. It was so cool to watch.
Of course, there are plenty of things she’s not going to be able to do for a good while, and lots of modifications needed, but she gave everything a 100 percent effort and was sweating and smiling when it was over.
She inspired me to want to inspire her.
This is gonna be fun.
