All right, all right …
Another installment of No More Excuses — welcome!
Along with, “I don’t have time,” another common excuse for not getting enough — or any — exercise is:
“I can’t seem to stay motivated.”
People start out with good intentions, but they don’t stick with it long enough to start seeing results,
And so they give up
Before the magic happens.
Well, here’s the deal.
One rule of thumb for starting an exercise programs says:
In six weeks, you’ll start to feel better and stronger.
In 12 weeks, you’ll start to notice results; changes that you can see.
In 18 weeks, other people will start to notice the results.
A lot of people throw in the towel, so to speak, somewhere along that timeline.
They just don’t stick it out long enough for the payoff.
It takes time to get out of shape, and it takes time to get in shape.
Some say it takes 21 days to form a new habit. With exercise, that number is probably quite a bit higher.
But it can and will happen.
Just like finding the time, sticking with it is all a matter of priority.
Do you want it bad enough?
You can do it!
