Realistic weight loss goals by John Clark | Jul 25, 2022 | Ask John Clark, Health and Wellness Somebody on Facebook the other day mentioned setting achievable weight-loss goals. Hell, yeah, man! That’s the way to do it. If you want to lose 20 pounds, that’s a great goal, but how about breaking that up into smaller goals? Like, I want to lose 5 pounds. When you get there, set another goal to lose 5 more. The task doesn’t seem as daunting that way, and you get to feel good about achieving goals along the way, instead of waiting until you struggle for a while to make that 20. It’s also a good idea to set a timeline for achieving the goal. LIke, I’m going to lose 5 pounds in four weeks. And taking it a step further … I’m going to lose 5 pounds in four weeks by walking three miles a day, six days a week. Now, you’re getting into setting SMART goals. Here is a diagram that shows exactly how to do it. And, by the way, this works for any goal you want to achieve Not just weight loss. You can do it!
